How do consultations work?
The purpose of our consultations is to share our knowledge and experience with you, and to advise you on good internet standards and procedures. We can and will recommend companies that we have had good relations with, and that we are willing to endorse for such services which fall outside the scope of Brukenet itself. Primarily, a consultation is designed to allow us to analyze your unique situation, and to make suggestions and recommendations that are in the best interests of your business.
Our consultations can take the form of a phone call, a personal meeting (travel expenses apply if outside the Grand Rapids, MI region), or a live chat via instant messages. All live consultations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, or else an additional $25 "emergency consultation" surcharge will apply. This emergency surcharge does NOT apply to an initial consultation, which is normally scheduled as soon after initial contact as our schedule allows.
We can also respond to consulting questions by email, at a flat rate of $10 per email received/answered (we will accept up to four related emails over a span of one week as part of an initial consultation by email). Email consultations should allow for a 72 hour response time, or 24 hours in the case of "emergency consultations" (which will incur the same $25 "emergency consultation" surcharge as for live consultations). For emergency consultations by email, please include the word "Emergency" in the subject of your email.
Please note that technical support requests are not considered consultations, and are covered under our Maintenance section instead. If, after retaining our services, you have a technical support question that directly involves a service for which you have contracted with us, we will answer all reasonable inquiries for free as a part of the contracted service.
